The Phases of Physical Therapy - How it Works!

01. Getting Started

Starting with an initial evaluation, we dive deep into your history, habits, symptoms, and more. You’ll go through a full-body assessment, and start tackling the low hanging fruit over the first few weeks. This allows you to start seeing some progress, and build confidence!

02. Making Progress

Knowing we’re on the right track, you will keep progressing with a blend of hands-on manual therapy, and targeted exercise. You will work on getting your brain and body cooperating again, and continue to build momentum until we’ve addressed your symptoms and met your goals

03. Expanding Results

We make sure to address why and how you got here in the first place, to ensure you maintain your results. We help you build strength and resilience, considering any other future goals you may have. We go beyond just feeling “better” to pursuing true wellness.

Pelvic Floor Therapy FAQs

  • I have chosen not to be in-network with any insurance companies. My goal is to have all of my focus on you for the entire session, rather than many insurance-based clinics who defer to using an aide or double-booking their clients. Staying out of network also allows me to take a more holistic, full-body approach, and offer the care that I believe you deserve. I am committed to providing transparent pricing and plan of care. I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for out of network reimbursement. (Note: this applies to pelvic floor PT sessions only)

  • NO! Consent is always yours to give or revoke at any time. For in-person therapy, I may recommend one based on your symptoms and will discuss it with your in detail. It may provide valuable information or help you see results sooner, but if you decline, we are absolutely still able to work together and make progress toward your goals.

  • Of course. I know how challenging it is to manage a new baby and try to make it to appointments. Please know that it may be easier to relax and focus on your healing if you are able to arrange child care. If that isn't possible, it's no problem- we can always make it work!

  • I wish I could give an easy answer, but the truth is, it depends. After your initial assessment, we will discuss a plan of care based on your starting point, goals, and my recommendations. It takes 4-6 weeks to BEGIN to see an improvement in symptoms, and pelvic health issues can be complex. I typically recommend booking 6 weeks at a time, and most of my clients see me for 3-6 months total.

  • I specialize in pregnancy, birth preparation and postpartum recovery, but frequently treat other pelvic health concerns such as period pain, painful sex, bladder and bowel issues, hip pain, and more. My training and expertise is in treating people with vaginal anatomy, but if you are a penis-owner seeking pelvic floor PT I’m happy to help you find resources. If you’re not sure if we would be a good fit, just ask!
